A new chapter in 2004

The discographic record lists Dismember’s “Where Ironcrosses Grow” as a ten-track album released on 8 March 2004 by Karmageddon Media under catalog number KARMA025. It also records that the album was made at Sami Studios in Stockholm between December 2002 and March 2003. The recording therefore predates the release by nearly a year.

A contemporary Dismember report and the Candlelight announcement add the business context: the band’s 2004 record sat within Karmageddon’s new North American licensing arrangement. The album is one recording, but a listener’s copy could reach them through a different company and edition depending on territory.

A case study, not a verdict

The point is not to award one label exclusive credit for the album’s history. It is to make the chain legible: the recording, its 2004 Karmageddon CD and the regional licensing arrangement answer different questions. Later editions under other imprints add further steps to the album’s life.

The catalog number is useful because it narrows the claim to an edition. The database record also lists a barcode and matrix variants, details a collector can compare with a physical copy. As with any community-maintained discography, those details are a research lead; the object itself remains the best evidence for the copy in hand.
